The Faculty of the VCA and Music (VCAM) draws upon the combined strengths of two iconic Melbourne arts institutions and former faculties of the University of Melbourne; the Victorian College of the Arts and the Faculty of Music.
The founding of VCAM in April 2009 brought together a wide range of creative disciplines including Art, Dance, Theatre, Film and Television, Music, Music Therapy, Production, Community Cultural Development and Indigenous Arts Management.
Excellence and innovation in creative arts research, education, scholarship and practice form the foundation of the work at VCAM. As a vibrant community of artists and scholars, students and staff are committed to pursuing the broadest definition of creativity.
This discussion paper sets out options for the Faculty of the VCA and Music within the context of the higher arts education sector nationally and internationally.
It invites ideas and comments from staff, students, graduates, members of the arts community, arts industry, and of the wider University community.
We warmly invite and encourage you to participate in this consultation by providing your feedback.
We are developing a new website for the Faculty of VCA and Music, however in the interim, the links on this site will take you to the Parkville (formerly the Faculty of Music) and Southbank (formerly the Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts) campus websites.
