The scholarship is provided promote, encourage and stimulate the art of musical composition in Australia. Applicants must address the selection criteria and requirements provided on the application website. The applications will be assessed by a selection commitee.

The scholarship is provided to enable the scholar to undertake further studies in music overseas. The scholarship is open for award to graduates in music of the University, or of another university or institution approved for the purpose by the school of Music, who are Australian citizens under the age of thirty years at the date when applications for the scholarship close. 
AEH NICKSON TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP

$10,000 MCM and classical music (VCA) graduates, Bachelor of Arts students with a major in music, or those who have qualified for a degree or diploma from another Victorian University which teachers music at a tertiary level. Applicants must have graduated within the past 5 years
The scholarship is awarded to enable the scholar to pursue musical studies overseas.

The award is open to competition amongst all persons who have been resident in Australia for two years or more immediately preceding the last day for application for the award but no other restrictions are to be placed on eligibility to compete for the award. The committee commissions the winner to compose a musical composition of a substantial nature to be completed and performed within such period as the committee determines - as such, applications should include:
- a list of works
- an overview of commissions, publications and performances
- a score and matching recording of ONE composition written in the last three years
DORCAS McCLEAN TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP FOR VIOLINISTS

The Dorcas McClean Travellling Scholarship for Violinists seeks to support the musical education of outstanding young violinists through the provision of travelling scholarships and prizes to support those judged most talented at the beginning of their professional careers. Previous winners of the Scholarship are not eligible to apply.

The Scholarship is open to all violinists aged 25 and under at the closing date for applications, who have been resident in Australia for no less than two years. Applicants to the competition must provide a verified DVD recording of the specified repertoire, a summary of musical training and experience and an outline of the proposed study program to be undertaken if the applicant is successful. 

The top six entrants, chosen by a panel of prominent Australian violinists, will be flown to Melbourne to perform in the public concert rounds of the competition.

The award is provided to a composer resident in Victoria whom the committee considers merits recognition and encouragement. The committee commissions the winner to compose a chamber composition to be completed and performed within such period as the committee determines - as such, applications should include:
- a list of works
- an overview of commissions, publications and performances
- a score and matching recording of ONE composition written in the last three years.
The score (or other material in an appropriate format) of the commissioned composition must be lodged with the Louise Hanson-Dyer Music Library. 
ELIZABETH STAINKAMPH MEMORIAL PRIZE

Applications must be full–time music students at any recognized Australian tertiary institution
The award is for a work demonstrating a true fusion of classical and jazz styles. Applicants should submit one copy of a finished score for small or large ensemble (minimum duration 7 minutes), together with a recording (including computer realisation) if available. Works in short score (yet to be orchestrated) are encouraged. Jazz soloist(s) optional.
